Pure Ballet Studios’ mission is to provide an independent place for serious students of dance to receive individualized and tailored instruction in classical ballet.
Private or semi-private classes are designed to help students fix their problem areas, clean up technique work, and set the student on a course for college and/or a professional dance career.
Pure Ballet Studios is proud to offer the **Cecchetti Method for Classical Ballet Training which provides comprehensive training in classical ballet along with formalized ballet exams (much in the same style as the majority of all European trained ballet students.) Students can elect to train towards formalized ballet exams as offered through the Southwest Committee of the Cecchetti Council of America. (Teachers are required to participate in examinations.) The Cecchetti technique work is a major part of the body of work that influenced the syllabus-based training program and the national training curriculum utilized at the The Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School at American Ballet Theatre, in New York City. Pure Ballet Studios is proud to be the only syllabus-based private ballet school in the San Antonio/South Texas region offering this level of concise, scientifically based, thorough and balanced approach to comprehensive training for students and teachers.
Students are accepted into the program through an audition/evaluation process, or through a personal or professional. Not all students who audition/are referred will be accepted. Students are accepted throughout the year and can begin at any time. Tuition is $50 per hour.* Semi-private lessons can be arranged to help defray the tuition cost, however no more than 2 students can be in any one class. This helps to ensure that each student is getting the most he/she can out of every single class. Cecchetti student material and exam fees are separate fees payable as each student progresses through the work. More information about private tuition, dress code, and studio policies are available in the links to the right. *Scholarships, tuition assistance and other creative funding options are available to qualifying students thanks to private benefactors.
Please see Studio FAQ’s for more information about the program.
**Regarding the Cecchetti Program: Previous dance experience is helpful but not required to begin the Cecchetti method. Any student aged 5 and older may begin work in the program. However, students do not take formal exams until the age of 9.
